Founder and Principal Mediator,
The Cottage Mediator
Jen knows first-hand that family cottages are more than financially valuable – they’re emotionally valuable. Anyone who grew up with a cottage, camp, or cabin knows they hold our best memories. And having to share or divide these family properties when a parent passes on, or can no longer take care of it, can tear families apart.
During these challenges, families need a compassionate, pragmatic, and skilled expert to guide them through stress and grief and lead them to cooperation and calm.
Lawyer and professional mediator, Jen Norman is here to give families the help they need.
Jen Norman has been driven to help people for over three decades as a lawyer, trusted advisor to executives, and professional mediator specializing in labour and employment matters. Jen has built a solid track record for excellence in negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Jen has devoted her career to helping hundreds of people get through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. She now applies those skills to helping families walk away from mediation together – with an agreement that works for everyone.
Jen has a BAH from Queen's University and an LLB from Western Law. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2000. After practicing law in private practice and as in-house counsel, as well as taking on strategic advisory roles in the public and broader public sector, Jen has chosen to work exclusively as a Mediator. She is recognized as a Qualified Mediator (Q.Med) by the ADR Institute of Canada.
She is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario, the ADR Institute of Canada, and the Law Society of Ontario,
Jen and her family love spending time at their cottage in the Almaguin Highlands where four generations of Jen's family have created wonderful cottage memories.
